DNS host mentions 'ALIAS' or 'ANAME', what's that?

ALIAS/ANAME does what a CNAME would want at apex, but exposes an A record outwardly.

support/hosting-domeinen-dns/alias-aname-recordssteps: 4

Try this first

  1. DNS host resolves the target internally and serves the IP as an A record
  2. Only works where supported (DNSimple, Route53, easyDNS, Cloudflare via flattening)
  3. Use for apex bindings to PaaS (Vercel, Netlify, Heroku)
  4. TTL usually lower because target can change

When to bring us in

Not all hosts support it, ask support or move DNS.
